The Ingredient Game: Round One

Here is how we play the ingredient game. I type out the ingredients for a food product and you have to guess the product. I will also give you two clues. The winner receives the love and respect of the Amateur Gourmet Community.Two Clues:1. This is a prepackaged product;2. It is desserty in nature.Ingredients: Sugar, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable And/Or Animal Shortening (Contains One or More of: Soybean, Cottonseed, Canola, Palm, Palm Kernel, or Coconut Oil, Beef Fat), Enriched Bleached Wheat Flour [Flour, Ferrous Sulfate (Iron), “B” Vitamins (Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Folic Acid)], Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Cocoa Processed with Alkali, Corn Syrup. Contains 2% or Less of: Sweet Dairy Whey, Whole Eggs, Modified Corn Starch, Cellulose Gum, Mono and Diglycerides, Leavenings (Baking Soda, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Monocalcium Phosphate), Salt, Cornstarch, Soy Lecithin, Soy Protein Isolate, Polysorbate 60, Wheat Gluten, Natural and Artifical Flavors, Calcium and Sodium Caseinate, Calcium Sulfate, Sorbic Acid (to retain freshness).

ah man, i was going with ding-dongs. however, in nashville they are called king dongs. i’m not really sure they name change helps though.

Benson is so sure of his choice he said it three times, so I’ll go with twinkie too. Of course I’ve been beaten to the punch so I understand that I won’t be getting any love or respect, but I’m a parent. I’m used to that. 🙂

Actually, GIDDY is our winner: the answer was Ding-Dongs. (Twinkies don’t have COCOA in them, do they?)And Benson–oops–I was trying to delete your excess comments and ended up deleting them all. Please forgive me.

Whoop! I actually thought of Twinkies first, too, but the cocoa was the tip-off. After I posted I thought it looked snotty of me to have used a period instead of a question mark like everyone before me, because I really wasn’t certain, but in hindsight it looks really good!
